Yay! You finally booked that dream vacation to Costa Rica! Now what? Well, how about some fun activities to fill your days. Not sure what to do? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!

There are so many things to do in Jaco and so many companies to do them with, and it can all be very overwhelming. I mean, who do you trust? Is it safe? Is it an honest company? What do I choose? Let me break it down for you.

ATV Tour-One of the most popular activities to do in Jaco. It’s fun muddy, and you get to see the backroads! You can rent a single ATV or a buggy depending on your family or group size and skill level, but either way…so fun! Absolutely a must-do in Costa Rica and definitely in Jaco!

Ziplining-This is also a very popular excursion. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to strap themselves into a harness, hook up to a wire and throw yourself off of a platform for fun?! This is an exhilarating activity and a great way to get a feel for the jungles of Costa Rica.

Surf Lessons-Riding the waves, hanging ten, dropping in, paddling out, duck diving! These are just some of the phrases you will be able to say after you take some surf lessons in Jaco! By far, this town has some of the friendliest waters for beginners. The bottom is sandy, and the waves envelop you like a gentle hug from your favorite grandma. The water is warm, and the sun is out, your bathing suit is on, so what are you doing standing on the beach? Get out there!

Tortuga Island-A little slice of paradise in paradise. Why not hop on a catamaran with one of the best boat crews in Jaco and jet over to a small island where you will have white sand beaches, beautiful clear blue water, and an ocean full of tropical fish. You can go snorkeling and see all the bright colors of the local fish, take a spin on a banana boat, hang out on the beach, go for a hike, eat some lunch, have some drinks. Pretty rad day if you ask me! This is a full-day tour that will have you back in time to watch another beautiful sunset.

Horseback Riding-Feeling like you need to hop on a giant animal and ride through the rainforest? Maybe check out a waterfall? It seems like the thing to do on vacation. Seriously though, what a way to explore the backroads, especially if you are an animal lover. This is one of the more calm tours in Jaco and is an excellent relaxing way to check out some falls (waterfalls, not falling from horses) and get a feel for why we love it here.
